William Morris

One of the things I love about my job is the companies I am lucky enough to work with. 

One in particular is UK based Morris & Co which was founded by William Morris over 150 years ago.

William Morris was a British textile designer, poet, novelist, translator, and socialist activist associated with the British Arts and Crafts Movement. He was a major contributor to the revival of traditional British textile arts and methods of production

In 1861, with a group of friends, he started the decorating business Morris, Marshall, Faulkner & Co. providing beautiful, handcrafted products and furnishings for the home.

Morris was motivated by the desire to provide affordable ‘art for all’ and driven by his boundless enthusiasm, the output of the company was prolific.

These designs are timeless and Morris and Co have re-coloured  and re engineered many of the designs in fabric and wallpaper with wondrous results. 

The Morris Pure Collection is one of my personal favorites

This Pure Strawberry Thief Wallpaper pattern has been re coloured and is beautifully flocked with crushed beads. The result is breath taking.
