'Sea of Dreams 1' by Matisse Douglass is an abstract expressionist painting utilizing a soft colour palette and subtle texture to draw the eye in and evoke a sense of serenity and comfort in her viewers.

Matisse Douglass is a second-generation artist based in the South East Suburbs of Melbourne, Australia.  After completing a Bachelor of Visual Art and Design in 2017 Douglass spent a few years exploring different creative practices including floristry, graphics, and filmmaking before returning to painting. Now focusing on abstract expressionist painting, Douglass’ work utilizes a soft colour palette and subtle texture to draw the eye in and evoke a sense of serenity and comfort in her viewers.
