The grand baroque extension to Hampton Court Palace, commissioned by William III and Mary II at the close of the 17th century to rival Europe's great palaces, is the starting point for King's Argent. Mirrors were once one of the great luxuries of the era, a genuine symbol of wealth, and this design reflects that: a detailed series of silvered, mirrored tiles overlaid with shadowy leaves and flower heads.

The etching is fine and delicate rather than heavy-handed, adding a sense of stately grandeur without tipping into anything overwrought, much like the ceremonial rooms it was drawn from.

King's Argent comes in two metallic colourways, Metallic Silver Foil and Metallic Gilver, and works particularly well on a feature wall, in an alcove, or even overhead as a genuinely lavish ceiling treatment.
