Frutto Proibito brings together several of Fornasetti's own archival motifs from the 1940s and 50s: mischievous monkeys, first conceived as painted panels for a Milanese patisserie called Dulciora, now set loose among sprawling pomegranate branches.

The monkeys are drawn with real character and a bit of mischief, caught mid-scramble through the branches rather than posed still, while the pomegranates themselves carry a decorative, almost jewel-like weight against the foliage.

Frutto Proibito is available in four colourways: Sage and Magenta on Ink, a rich, dark ground; Sky Blue and Plum on Gold, warmer and more lustrous; Cerulean and Orange, a brighter, sunnier option; and Seafoam and Lemon, the lightest and freshest of the four.

Its density and wit suit a bedroom, dining room or powder room particularly well, and hold up equally as a full room or a single feature wall.
