Bee Glasses 2 Sizes La Rochere

La Rochère has been making glass in the same corner of France since 1475, making it the oldest continuously running glass factory in Europe, and the bee that decorates these tumblers has almost as much history behind it: Napoleon chose the bee as the emblem of his reign, and the design here is drawn from a pattern that belonged to him.

Each glass is pressed rather than blown, a traditional method that leaves a faint seam where the mould was opened, a small mark of authenticity rather than a flaw. The bee itself is symbolic beyond its French royal history too, standing for hard work and industriousness, and tying the glass to the sunny countryside of the South of France.

Available in two sizes: Medium, suited to everyday water or juice, and Large, with a bit more capacity for a proper drink. Both are versatile enough to double as a tealight holder, a small vase, or a pen holder when they're not on the table.

Dishwasher safe and genuinely built to last, they make a considered gift as much as an everyday piece, particularly for a wedding.
